Austria’s One-Stop Shop for Chip Innovation
The AT-C³ is known as the “Austrian Chip Design & Prototyping Support Center,” a consortium formed by six leading organizations in the Austrian semiconductor community. It was established in January 2025 as one of Europe’s first Chip Competence Centres.
About AT-C³
AT-C³ – Austrian Chips Competence Center is Austria’s central hub for chip design, prototyping, and advanced semiconductor technologies under the European Chips Act. As part of the European network of Chips Competence Centers, AT-C3 supports companies and research organizations across the electronics and software-based value chain.
Acting as a one-stop shop, AT-C³ provides SMEs, start-ups, and – through tailored offerings – large enterprises with access to expertise, prototyping and testing services, as well as European pilot lines, design platforms, and funding instruments. Backed by a strong consortium of leading Austrian research and technology partners, AT-C³ bridges scientific excellence and industrial application to accelerate innovation and strenghten Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.

Chips Act
The European Chips Act is Europe’s strategic initiative to strengthen semiconductor research, innovation, manufacturing, skills development, and supply chain resilience.
Its objective is to increase Europe’s technological sovereignty, strengthen global competitiveness, and secure a resilient semiconductor ecosystem capable of supporting future economic growth and technological leadership.
Chips Joint Undertaking
The Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) is one of Europe’s most important initiatives for strengthening semiconductor research, innovation, manufacturing, and technological sovereignty.
