Funding Opportunities for Semiconductor Innovation in Austria
Discover how AT-C³ supports Austrian SMEs in semiconductor innovation with expert services and funding opportunities to accelerate chip and system development.
Accelerating Innovation Through Expert Support
The AT-C³ initiative strengthens Austria’s semiconductor ecosystem by supporting SMEs in chip and system development. With expert services covering up to 80% of project costs, the program helps companies accelerate innovation and contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty.
Who can apply?
Small and medium-sized enterprises in Austria operating in the ESBS industry (Electronic and Software Based Systems) are eligible for funding. Applicants must meet EU SME criteria and comply with the De-Minimis aid limit of €300,000 over the last three years. Projects connected to Chips Competence Centers are also eligible.
What is funded?
Funding is available for innovative setup projects in chip and system development with a technology readiness level of 5 or higher. Research activities and investment projects are excluded. Only expert services are eligible for funding; material, personnel, and travel costs are not covered.
How to apply
The application process involves several steps, which are described below. The document “Abstract of Guide for Applicants” summarizes the full version of the “Guide for Applicants” and can be downloaded separately.
Eligibility checks contain specific criteria that a business or entity must meet to qualify for a service, program, contract, or business opportunity. These criteria ensure that only those who meet predefined standards can participate, receive benefits, or enter into agreements. Eligibility criteria are based on factors set by the AT-C3 consortium and regulations defined by funding institutions.
